Czech antitrust office ÚOHS Chairman Petr Rafaj has confirmed the 1 million Kč fine imposed on  České dráhy (ČD) for a defective lease of Taurus locomotives from Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) .

The decision has already become effective and ČD has to pay the fine within two months. The fine was imposed on ČD for making contracts for the lease of Taurus between 2008 and 2012 (the contracts being effective between 2009 and 2013) without a tender procedure.

Taurus locomotives, leased from Austria, are  used for pulling the Railjet trains that operate on the Prague–Vienna–Graz route.
