Aeroexpress requests RUB 22 billion for the purchase of Stadler double-deck trains
Russia: Aeroexpress rail passenger operator requested RUB 25 billion from the National Welfare Fund. The amount is needed to finance four projects: the construction of three railway terminals and the purchase of 25 double deck KISS type trains manufactured by Stadler.
The operator plans to raise money by issuing bonds or by obtaining a National Welfare Fund loan.
Commercial operation of the first train is set to commence in June 2015, while the last – 25th train of the delivery – is expected to enter service in June 2016. The new trains will be transporting passengers between Belorussky, Kievsky, Paveletsky rail terminals and Moscow airports hub. With the new rolling stock fleet, Aeroexpress hopes to increase in its passenger traffic by 23.3% until 2018.
