Belkommunmash tests new tramway for Belarusian city of Novopolotsk

Belarusian rolling stock manufacturer Belkommunmash is testing the new BKM-802 tramway model for the Belarusian city of Novopolotsk.
According to Yelena Tsikhelashvili, a representative of the Novopolotsk city tram depot, such trams have not been used in Belarus until now. After a long period of startup and commissioning efforts, the latest model of the single-section partially low-floor tramway went into service the city's only tram route (Belta).
BKM-802 tramway is designed to service cities with small passenger traffic. The vehicle is 15.5m long and has a transport capacity of 165 passengers (28 seated and 137 standing). It is equipped with with a ramp for wheelchair access, LED lighting and a passenger information systems.
The Novopolotsk public transport operator has a tramway fleet of 31 units.
