Bulgaria to resume the privatisation procedure of BDZ freight unit this year
The Bulgarian Privatization and Post-Privatization Control Agency (PPCA) has included the privatisation of BDZ Tovarni Prevozi, the freight unit of Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ), on the list of priority projects to be implemented in 2015. PPCA has already received the consent of the Ministries of Finance and Transport to restart the privatisation process.
PPCA has approved its 2015 work plan and intends to carry out 30 privatisation sales in 2015, at a minimum value of BGN 147.3 million (75.3 million euro). According to the plan, the state will sell its stake in companies with more than 50% of state participation, properties of companies with more than 50% of state participation, as well as state properties with tax assessment of more than BGN 10,000.
BDZ Tovarni Prevozi registered a loss of BGN 12 million (EUR 6.1 million) in 2014.
