Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) is assessing until the 15th of February the number and technical specifications of the single-car diesel trains it needs in order to renew the rail-buses fleet dating from 1960, already taken out of service.
In an interviewer for the local press, Anton Ginev, Deputy Transport Minister stated that the public procurement procedure for the acquisition of the single-car units will be launched once their number is settled. However, BDZ will only start the acquisition of new vehicles if a new debt rescheduling agreement with the company’s creditors will be signed.
