CFR SA gets EUR 12 million financing for electronic interlocking project
Romanian state-owned railway infrastructure manager, CFR SA and the Managing Authority for the Sectoral Operational Programme "Transport" have signed the financing contract for the project "Electronic Interlocking in Videle Rail Station".
The main objective of the project is to replace the existing electro-dynamic interlocking (type WSSB installed in 1972) with a new electronic interlocking. In addition, other type of works for improving operating conditions in station and for services provided to passengers will be included in the project: civil engineering works, railway superstructure works (replacement of some glued insulated joints, sleepers), video surveillance systems installation works for turnouts, platforms and track monitoring.
The total value of the project is RON 53 million (EUR 12 million), of which RON 34.6 (EUR 8.1 million) are financed by EU's European Regional Development Fund, under the Sectoral Operational Programme “Transport” 2007-2013, and the rest of the amount by the state budget.
