Consultation regarding trends and prospects of jobs and working conditions in transport

January 21
23:01 2014

Objective of the consultation

This targeted stakeholder consultation is addressed to enterprises active in the transport and logistics sector and to organisations and public administrations related to that sector.

The purpose of this consultation is to provide input to an evaluation of the EU approach to jobs and working conditions across transport modes announced in the Commission's  (action 11).

To prepare that evaluation the Directorate General for Mobility and Transport and the Joint Research Centre (IPTS) launched a study which is being carried out by JRC-IPTS with the external support from the firms Panteia and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

As part of this study, this consultation seeks expert information from firms but also from stakeholder organisations and public administrations.

The study assesses the adequacy of the current and near future supply of labour and skills to the sector taking into account factors such as the relative attractiveness of transport jobs. It then moves on to find out what can be done about the possible shortages. The contribution of your firm or organisation is of high relevance to provide a view from real experiences concerning the functioning of the labour market.
