Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic, accompanied by representatives of  HZ Putnicki, has visited the rolling stock manufacturing plant of Koncar - Elektricna Vozila. In January 2011, the Croatian company was awarded a HRK 1.63 billion (EUR 213 million) contract to supply a total of 44 diesel and electric multiple-units.

The production is carried out in two phases: the first phase includes 20 electrical and one diesel multiple-units, while the second phase includes 12 electrical and 11 diesel multiple-units.The first batch is scheduled for delivered by the end of March next year. 

Approximately 70% of the components for the new EMUs and DMUs are sourced locally. 

"The state is one of the co- owners, but the company is working and developing independent land is  currently looking for strategic partners", said Milanovic, underlining that  Koncar is one of the stars of Croatian industry.
