FCC and Odebrecht selected for Panama City Line 2 construction contract
FCC (Spain) - Norberto Odebrecht (Brazil) consortium has submitted the best offer in the tender for the construction of Line 2 of the Panama City Metro.
The € 1.65 billion contract provides for engineering design, construction of the civil works, installation of auxiliary works, supply and installation of the track and the supply of rolling stock. The 21 km of elevated track will include 16 stations, connecting stations from the San Miguelito district to the 24 de diciembre district.
The other two consortia that competed in the tender were UTE PANAMA II, formed of Dragados SA (Spain), Ingenieros Civiles Asociados S.A. de C.V. (Mexico), and Grana y Montero SAA (Peru) and Panametro, formed of China Harbour Engineering Company LTD (China), China Railway First Group Co., LTD (China) and CORSAN-CORVIAM CONSTRUCTION, SA (Spain).
FCC and Odebrecht have constructed Line 1 of the Panama City Metro.
