Funding approved for latest supplementary agreement between RZD International and Serbian Railways
The finance ministries of Russia and Serbia have approved funding for the Supplementary Agreement No. 2.1 signed by RZD International and Serbian Railways on the 16th of October.
The agreement refers to the reconstruction of three areas of Trans-European Corridor X with a total length of 65 km: Sopot Kosmajski-Kovačevac (18 km), Mala Krsna-Velika Plana (29 km), and Ruma-Golubinci (18 km). The cost is approximatelly USD 50 million. The speed of the trains at these railway segments will be 120 km/h; currently the speed limit is 30 km/h.
Payments are are set up to start December, when RZD International plans to start the construction works.
Currently, RZD International works on the reconstruction of the permanent way in Krnyacha railway station, part of the construction and electrification of the second railway track from the Pančevo Bridge (Belgrade) to the Pančevo Glavna station (Pančevo) project.
