Goldair Cargo, part of Goldair Group, and Rail Cargo Logistics – Austria, part of Rail Cargo Group, have agreed to establish a joint venture company that will provide rail freight transport services, with all types of wagons - conventional, tank containers, wagons for bulk goods. 

The new railway freight operator,  “Rail Cargo Logistics – Goldair”,  will take over the Austrian company’s existing operations in Greece (Express-Interfracht). The new company will be set up in 2015 and an amount  EUR 6 m will be invested in its development.

The partnership also aims to promote Greece as a transit center in Southeast Europe and aspires to play an important role in the transport of transit cargo by train, using the ports of Piraeus and Thessaloniki as gateways to transfer goods from third countries destined for Central Europe and vice versa.
