Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy, new metro line project in Istanbul

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality announced for January a tender for the construction of  Kabataş-Mecidiyeköy metro line. The 6.5 km long line extension will connect eight districts (Beyoğlu, Beşiktaş, Şişli, Kağıthane, Eyüp, Gaziosmanpaşa, Esenler and Bağcılar). Works are expected to early start this year and to be completed by end of 2018. 

The metro line will have three stations. The the total line length linking Kabataş and Halkalı Toplu Konutlar-Altınşehir-Başakşehir will be 24.5 km. 

Works for Mecidiyeköy - Mahmutbey Metro Line (including Depot, Maintenance Facilities and Depot Connection Lines) started in January 2014 and are carried out by Gülermak-Kolin-Kalyon consortium. Construction works are expected to last until 2017.
