Macedonian Railways and Louis Berger – Typsa consultancy consortium have signed a contract for the final design project of the construction of Kicevo – Lin (border with Republic of Albania) new railway section, part of Corridor VIII.
The construction costs for the 62.8 km section are estimated at EUR 450 million. In a first phase, Macedonian Railways will proceed to expropriate the land and to announce a call for proposals for companies interested in taking part in the construction works.
Designed as an extension of Skopje-Tetovo-Gostivar-Kicevo, the railway line will establishing a link with Albania, a connection with Duras and Valona ports on the Adriatic Sea.
