Moscow Metro to install 10000 CCTVs worth EUR 76 million

Moscow Metro will organise a tender next month for the purchase of 10000 CCTVs, an investment estimated at RUB 4 bn (EUR 76 million). 

Installation works are expected to last nine months and will be carried out during in four stages.  The face recognition CCTV system will first be installed on the metro hallways and lobbies, followed by platform areas and back offices.  In the last stage, metro trains will be fitted with CCTVs.

Currently, about 5.5 thousand cameras are installed in Moscow Metro, which will also have to be connected to the new surveillance system.
