New section of Praha metro’s line A inaugurated

 metro-schema-150407Praha metro Line A extention from Dejvická to Nemocnice Motol was inaugurated by Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, Prague mayor Adriana Krnáčová (for ANO) and the management of DPP, Prague public transport company.

The over 6134 m long new section has four intermediate stations at Bořislavka (station length 193 m, platform level below grade 26.7 m), Nádraží Veleslavín (platform level below grade 19.4 m) , Petřiny (platform level below grade 35 m) and Nemocnice Motol (station length 160 m, platform level below grade 5.6 m) .

Works on Line A extension were launched in January 2010 and were carried out by a consortium of Metrostav and Hochtief CZ. Other companies involved in the project were Subterra, Prominecon, Skanska, AZD Praha, ARCADIS and INSET.

The total cost of the project was  CZK 20 billion.
