PKP PLK awarded Skanska Poland a PLN 60 million contract to modernise the rail line Paczyna-Toszek-Błotnica Strzelecka, located on the border of Opolskie and Silesia voivodships. Modernisation works are scheduled to begin in mid-April and be completed by November this year. Traffic will not be closed.
“Passenger trains will be able to reach a speed of up to 120 km/h and cargo trains a speed of up to 70 km/h”, stated Rafal Wojciechowski, project manager at Skanska Poland. The investment will also reduce travel time by train from Katowice to Opole and Wroclaw.
