PKP PLK signs feasibility study on the modernization of Lublin – Stalowa Wola railway section

Polskie Linie Kolejowe (PKP PLK) and WYG Consulting Sp. z oo - WYG International consortium signed a PLN 1.8 million (EUR 0.42 million) contract for the feasibility study on the modernization of Lublin - Stalowa Wola railway section, part of line no. 68.
The infrastructure manager plans to start modernisations works, which will include electrification and track refurbishment, in 2017. As a result, no exchanges of freight locomotives will be necessary and the maximum speed will increase to 120km/h.
Lublin - Stalowa Wola railway section modernisation is one of the 9 projects that PKP PLK plans to finance under the the Operational Programme Development of Eastern Poland.
