PKP PLK to invest EUR 10.5 million in refurbishing railway stations and stops

Polish infrastructure manager PKP PLK has invested PLN 35 million (EUR 8.2 million) in new platform canopies, in refurbishing platforms and pedestrian underpasses, in renovating new elevators and wheelchair ramps for people with disabilities. 

As part of the program for the modernisation of passenger railway infrastructure, next year the company plans to invest PLN 45 million ( EUR 10.5 million).  

The railway stations modernisation project will also include landscaping, replacement of railway platform benches, canopies, lightning systems, timetables design. Until October 2014, a number of 148 new platforms, 28 pedestrian overpasses and underpasses and 24 elevators entered into service.
