Poland: EUR 480 million for the modernisation of Poznan Glowny – Szczecin Dabie railway section
Polish infrastructure manager PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. (PKP PLK) has announced a tender for project documentation and design for the modernisation of Poznań Główny – Szczecin Dąbie railway section, part of the project "Works covering the Poznań Główny – Szczecin Dąbie section of the railway line E 59". The railway section belongs to the TEN-T core network, providing access to the Szczecin-Świnoujście port complex.
The contract is divided into three lots: Poznan - Wronki, Wronki - Dobiegniew and Dobiegniew - Szczecin Dąbie railway sections. Its values is estimated at PLN 75 million (EUR 18 million) and its duration is 810 days. Bids will be opened on the 13th of March.
Modernisation works for Poznań Główny – Szczecin Dąbie railway section will increase speeds from 120km/h to 160 km/h, reducing journey times from 2.30h to 2 h. Works will include replacement of old tracks on the 200 km section, reconstruction of all viaducts and bridges, traffic control devices, rebuilding of station platforms and canopies. ERTMS equipment will also be installed.
Total costs of the projects are estimated at PLN 2 bn ( EUR 480 million) and will be covered by EU funding for the period 2014 - 2o20.
