Polish company TINES signs contract with Baku Metro

Polish track super structure systems provider TINES has signed a contract with Baku Metro (Bakı Metropoliteni) for the construction of 800 m long test section ballastless track (using Embedded Rail Systems - EBS). According to TINES, the technology were already used in the construction of Warsaw, Kiev and Almaty subways and was tested successfully by St. Petersburg and Minsk subways.
The constructions works are expected to be completed by the middle of this year and after the testing period, the company hopes to extend the contract. The value of the Azerbaijani contract was not disclosed.
Tines has already established a production plant in Kazakhstan and considers that South Caucasus markets as most promising ones.
