Saint Petersburg metro to install intelligent video surveillance systems with facial recognition

Saint Petersburg metro announced two tenders for the purchase of intelligent video surveillance systems with facial recognition to be installed in 14 stations. The total value of the tenders is estimated at EUR 11 million ( RUB 569 million).

In a first phase, several central stations with a large number of passengers and end-stations  will be equipped with the new system.

In 2013, a pilot installation was carried out in Ladozhsky station.
