Schedule for international trains via Belarus to be coordinated in Ljubljana

The schedule for international passenger trains going between Russia and European countries via Belarus will be preliminary coordinated in Ljubljana (Slovenia), BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Railways press service.

At the moment representatives of Belarusian Railways are participating in the conference of European railway administrations to develop and coordinate the railway schedule and schemes for the composition of trains with international passenger cars for 2014-2015. The conference will last till 17 January.

The program of the conference also features negotiations with representatives of the Russian, German, Czech, and Polish railway administrations. The sides will discuss the organization of passenger transportation during the 2014 IIHF World Championship in Minsk.

The Forum Train Europe (FTE) is a coordination conference for the development of a schedule for rail freight and passenger cross-border transportation. The organization includes railway administrations, companies, and service enterprises from 65 countries.

The press service said that Belarusian Railways has already set the international cooperation guidelines for 2014 that include cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission to implement the agreement on the regulation of access to services of the rail transport, including tariff policy basics. This year Belarusian Railways is also planning to carry out the agreement with OAO Russian Railways and AO Kazakhstan Temir Zholy on the establishment and functioning of the Joint Transport and Logistic Company.

Belarusian Railways will pay special attention to the coordination of international trains and trains of the urban lines during the 2014 IIHF World Championship in Minsk. It will also cooperate with foreign companies producing rolling stock and railway equipment and participate in international expos, forums, and conferences.
