Serbian Railways reforming process has been launched and will be carry out over a three-year period. The first step will be taken this year with the separation of the company into four entities which are expected to start operating with the 1st of July, stated Dеjan Trifunović, State Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Engineering, Transport and Infrastructure.

"The first step is to divide the company into four entities - Žеlеznicе AD (Railways AD), the rail passenger operator, rail freight operator and infrastructure manager. The documents concerning the establishment of the special company will defined by the 31st of March, and the railway companies will be operational starting with the 1st of July", Trifunović commented for the local press.

The reforming process key document will be ready in September and is expected to be adopted by the Serbian Government and Serbian Railways Board of Directors during the same month, according to Trifunović.
