Turkish company Gulermak submits bids for Tampere Tramway project and Sofia’s new metro line

The Finnish City of Tampere announced that Turkish company Gulermak and three other consortia have prequalified in the tender for the Tampere tramway project:
1. LEMMINKAINEN (Finland) - RAMBOLL (Denmark) – ALSTOM (France) - INSINORRIT SUNNITELU (Finland): 137.75 Point / 160
2. GULERMAK (Turkey) : 134.80 Point / 160
3. DESTIA (Finland) – SIEMENS (Germany) – SITO (Finland) : 98.70 Point / 160
4. VR TRACK (Finland) – YIT (Finland) – PÖYRY (Finland) : 90.90 Point / 160

The Tampere Tramway project will include the construction of a new 23,5 km tram network in the Tampere city that will serve some 40 000 passengers per day. Construction costs for infrastructure are planned to stay within budget of EUR 250m. The Finnish government is expected to finance 30 % of total infrastructure costs.

Gulermak also submitted a bid in the tender organised by Bulgarian state-owned company Metropolitan, Sofia's subway operator, for the construction of a 7-km section of the new 3rd metro line. The tender is divided into four lots and includes the construction of seven metro stations. Gulermak bidded for the forth lot in the contract, which includes tunneling works with tunnel-boring machine (TBM) from km 11 + 966.34 to the 5 + 248.57 km.
