Russian Railways’ projects for Brazil and India potentially funded by BRICS New Development Bank
Russian Railways (RZD) may propose projects in Brazil and India, potentially to be funded by the BRICS New Development Bank, said the company’s CEO Vladimir Yakunin on the sidelines of the BRICS Business Council.
"We have just joined the Business Council, we do not have projects that are in the process of being signed or implemented, however judging by today's meeting, I am sure that in the near future such projects will exist. I am referring to Brazil and also India, where negotiations are in progress", stated Yakunin.
RZD is currently negotiating the possibility of getting involved in a number of projects in India, in particular the modernization and construction of railway infrastructure allowing speeds of 160-200 km/h, as well as the modernization of railway stations.
