Swietelsky awarded HUF 14 bn contract for railway section rehabilitation in Hungary

Hungarian State Railways' (MÁV) has selected Swietelsky Vasúttechnika Kft. - Duna Aszfalt Kft. consortium to carry out the modernisation of Nagyút – Mezőkeresztes-Mezőnyárád railway section, based on lowest priced criteria. The value of the contract is approximately HUF 14 bn (EUR 44.8 million).
The main objective of the 36 km double-track modernisation project is to enable traffic for trains with speed of 120 km/h and axle load up to 22.5 t.
The project is financed under the Operational Programme for Transport.
