Siemens builds new high-speed train maintenance workshop in Metallostroy

0_beb7c_19a27a0f_origSiemens has laid the foundation stone for a new high-speed train maintenance workshop at Metallostroy depot base,  near Saint Petersburg. At the new facility sitting on 10 hectares, maintenance works for Sapsan (Velaro RUS) and Lastochka trains will be carried out. Service for components will also be provided, including wheels and bogies.

The construction of the workshop represents one of Siemens' most important investment project, its value being estimated at approximately EUR 60 million.  The facility is scheduled for completion at the end of this year. It complements the existing service centers in St. Petersburg, Moscow and Adler.

"Maintenance is an important service for Siemens and we give major attention to the maintenance of Sapsan and Lastochka trains delivered our key partner Russian Railways ", said the president of Siemens Russia, Dietrich Moeller.
